ApparelX Insights team was able to visit VANCET/SEVENBERRY exhibition of 2026 Spring Summer Collection, and here is a quick report on the latest offerings and highlights.
Sojitz Fashion
Sojitz Fashion is a textile trading company under the Sojitz Group, known for its strong foundation in cotton fabrics. Over the years, it has evolved into a general trading company, now handling a wide range of materials including functional synthetic fibers.
They manage three main brands, each targeting different markets:
- VANCET – General apparel fabric brand
- Sevenberry – Patterned fabrics aimed at craft and hobby markets
- Benjidai – A brand featuring stock-supported items tailored for the Chinese market
If you familiar with Japanese fabric market, there’s a good chance you’ve got a VANCET sample book somewhere in your office.
Evolving Image of VANCET
VANCET is shedding its old reputation of being “just affordable.” Today, it offers a rich variety of fabrics, continuously updated to reflect current trends, while still supporting timeless classics like twill and broadcloth.
This season’s exhibition was thoughtfully curated—not just a display of swatches by theme, but an experience that let attendees feel the texture and drape of each fabric. Finished garments were also featured in the “Inspiration Corner,” helping buyers easily envision end products.

2026 Spring Summer Season’s Highlight: Denim

The main attraction this time is the denim series that is displayed prominently at the entrance. VANCET denim is a made-in-Japan denim series made by Kaihara Denim.

Japanese denim is currently attracting attention both in Japan and overseas, and Kaihara denim in particular is extremely popular as it is a brand. However, once it runs out of stock, it takes about four months to deliver, so it may be a good idea to check stock availability or place an order in advance and have a sample made.
New Fine-Gauge Denim on the Way!
Although not domestically produced, VANCET has developed a new fine-count denim using 60s yarn, and it’s slated to receive an official product number soon.
According to the product manager:
“It’s tough to find mills that can weave this, but we’re confident it will become a standout item.”
This lightweight denim is ideal for layering pieces like denim shirts. Once it’s in stock, it’ll be listed on ApparelX, so stay tuned!
