There are two ways to order zippers at ApparelX: factory production and delivery date priority. It could be confusing for a first time user, so we would like to explain how to order YKK zippers and which option suits you the best.
Factory Production
When ordering zippers, you specify the zipper type, element color, tape color, size, slider, and length. so the number of combinations is quite large. and everything is not in stock. Basically, we handle orders on a made-to-order basis.
The advantage of ordering from a factory is that the zippers you want are made to order, so you can purchase them at listed price.
However, it usually takes 3 to 4 weeks, and at the earliest 1 to 2 weeks. Even one piece takes time. Since zippers are the item with the longest production lead time among apparel trims, we recommend placing your early.
Delivery date priority-Processing arrangements
Long zippers or zipper chains will be cut to a desired length.This
is called zipper processing.
The advantage of processing the zippers is that you can get them with shorter lead time. Since we process the zippers in stock at our distributors, we can shorten the delivery time. Depending on the number of items and the order volume, zipper samples can be shipped the next day.
However, the cost will be higher because longer zippers were used plus processing fees.
When should I choose to process my zippers?
Sample Order
Many customers use different methods: they need samples quickly, so they arrange for processing, and for mass production, they arrange for a cheaper factory.
In case of emergency
If you are in a hurry, you may need to arrange for mass production and processing. If it is black and white, there is usually a large stock, but if it is a color that is not often available, there may not be much stock, so please keep in mind that those colors may not be available for processing.
When the length is not determined
It takes time to make a zipper, so you want to order it as soon as possible, but sometimes you don’t know the length yet.
In such a case, for example, you can order 20 cm, and if it is 20 cm, you can use it as is, but if it is decided that 17 cm is needed, then you can have it processed to 17 cm, although this will incur costs.
However, it is not possible to change an order for 20cm factory production to 17cm factory production. In this case, you will need to cancel the 20cm order (within the cancellation period) and order a new 17cm order.
