Ever wonder what neon fabrics and trims options there are on ApparelX?
Here is a collection of neon, fluorescent materials.
But first…
What is fluorescent dye?
A dye that absorbs invisible ultraviolet light and converts it into lower energy visible blue light and emits it. The
converted visible light is called “fluorescence.”
It is the color that appears pale when exposed to black light on white clothing.
For example, bleached fabrics can be made to look slightly yellow by adding the complementary color blue to make them appear whiter, but they also turn yellow when worn down due to the amount of ultraviolet light or aging.
In addition to blue, materials that absorb blue and turn green, and materials that absorb green and turn red are also called “fluorescence.”
We’ll start with fabrics and then go over trims/accessories.

Neon Fabrics
Even colors not labeled as fluorescent have high color intensity that you would doubt they are fluorescent.

Of course, thread is essential. Without thread, there is no clothing (we’re going to ignore seamless clothing right now haha), so if the fabric is fluorescent, you’ll want to use threads of a matching color.
