Have you ever wondered what Preview in Daegu was like?
We went to Preview in Daegu 2025, last week from March 5~7, 2025.

It was our first time exhibiting at PID and our second time in Korea. Our first time was exhibiting at the PIS (Preview in Seoul) Aug. 2024. We had assumed that PID would have a little less visitors as it was not as big as PID, but it was significantly different.
In terms of official numbers, I can’t say, but it felt like the number of visitors was half of PIS. PID was held Wed~Thur, from 10am-6pm, and Friday, 10am-5pm; however, most visitors cleared out of the EXCO East hall by 4~4:30 and exhibitors were wrapping up and closing up for the day by 5pm! Friday was about the same, with most people clearing out by 3pm and exhibitors cleaning up their booths by 4pm. We were surprised but accepted that this is probably the culture here.
We had a few pre-existing customers that graciously came and visited us at our booth. They had the chance to meet our Korean team member that has been handling most, if not all, communications and orders from Korea.

I noticed that many visitors/buyers were large brands which makes sense since most of the fabric manufacturers that I went around to had MCQs of 1000m, MOQs of 3000m! However, there were some brands that could also use ApparelX and we have had several new registrations. One visitor registered an account on the spot while at our booth!
We were one of three exhibitors from Japan this year. Though directly handing out flyers at trade shows is not as common, we think it is a pretty standard and solid Japanese way of getting information out and increasing brand awareness. There is usually someone at train stations handing out flyers, coupons, pocket tissues and so on. We are hoping to increase brand awareness in this way.
Let’s go through a brief explanation of the exhibitors.
261 exhibitors. Blue section (seemed like most booths were tech・machine related for printing, logistics etc.), a Pink and Yellow section (which honestly, I couldn’t really distinguish the difference in exhibitors, just that the yellow booths looked a little more fancy with the black walls – FYI black walls do not seem that inviting but maybe that’s just me since I’m still relatively new to tradeshows). A Turquoise section that had brands and apparel manufacturers.
Fashion shows, seminars, and a cafe truck were also inside the venue.
I get hungry quickly so I’m always thinking about food. There was a quick food place where I enjoyed getting my lunch at in the West Hall – I don’t know the name but I’ll insert a photo here↓

There was also a buffet style restaurant in the west hall as well as several other cafes. There is a convenience store in both East and West hall for quick to-go meals, snacks, and drinks.
BTW, taxis in Korea are cheap compared to taxis in Japan.
We had the opportunity to go around one of the manufacturers factories, and the famous dyeing area in Daegu. While we are not allowed to share photos, maybe my next blog will be about the factories and I will do my best to explain and show you all with drawings or google images.
