Introduction to FUJIX Sewing Thread
Recently, we invited the staff from FUJIX to conduct a study session introducing their sewing thread products.
This was actually the third time our company has held a study session like this, so everything was perfectly prepared. Each participant received their own file with detailed materials, making it easy to follow along and take notes.

Company Overview
FUJIX is a well-established company with over 100 years of history. It is also a listed company, and they offer more than 50,000 types of sewing thread products!
One of the most attractive points of FUJIX threads is their high quality and reliability, which make them a trusted choice in the industry.
Learning About Thread Production
There are mainly two categories of threads: one for home use and the other for industrial use.
In the study session, we learned a lot about their threads — even from the production process itself. Did you know how a roll of thread is made? Please take a look at the picture below. The “white thing” you see is actually the base material used in thread production!

Main Product Categories of FUJIX Sewing Thread
- Spun Thread (Short Fiber)
Affordable and widely used, spun thread is made from short fibers. It is suitable for most general clothing applications. - Filament Thread (Long Fiber)
This type offers greater elasticity, sheen, and strength. It is ideal for formalwear, leather goods, embroidery, and more. - Core-Spun Thread (Composite Type)
Combines the advantages of both long and short fibers, with a matte finish and balanced performance. - High-Performance Threads
Includes functional threads such as heat-bonding, anti-static, and deodorizing types. - Eco-Friendly Products
A range of sustainable threads made with environmental considerations in mind.
Understanding Japanese Thread Standards
We also learned about the marking symbols used on Japanese sewing threads, known as the JIS standard (Japanese Industrial Standards). This system helps identify thread types, thickness, and applications. However, it is a domestic standard and is only used within Japan.
A Special Collaboration: FUJIX × Mizuno
One of the most impressive threads we saw was this bright orange one—you can see it in the picture below!
It’s a collaboration between FUJIX and Mizuno, and it was specially used for the logo section on Mizuno baseball gloves. The color and strength really stood out, and it was a great example of how FUJIX threads are applied in real products.

Spun vs. Filament Threads
Finally, I’d like to let you see the difference between spun thread and filament (long fiber) thread.
If you take a look at the comparison photo below, you can instantly tell how different they are in texture and appearance! It really helped us understand the unique characteristics of each type.
