Substitutes for Asahi Kasei’s cupro lining

The effects of the Asahi Kasei fire that occurred in April 2022 are still lingering, and cupro linings are out of stock or have been discontinued.

Recently, some product numbers have been produced smoothly, and there are signs that they are gradually arriving, but this time we would like to introduce some of the substitutes that are often asked about at such times.

Alternatives to AK1800 Cupro Lining

AKE5080 Bemberg Twill Lining

AKE5080 Bemberg Twill lining Asahi Kasei

Material: Cupra 59%, Polyester 41%

Specifications: 122cm x 50m

Because it uses Bemberg, it has excellent functions such as moisture absorption and release, antistatic, drape, and slipperiness.

Previously, it was available in 12 colors, but due to the gradual recovery of AK1800 stock, it has been reduced to three colors (dark blue, medium gray, and black).

ApparelX have some stock of medium gray and black, so if you are in a hurry, consider AKE5080 as an alternative.

J8100 Polyester Chambray Twill

J8100 Polyester Chambray Twill [Lining] Tamura Koma

Material: 100% Polyester

Specifications: 148cm x 50m Random

By using a special thread for the weft, it has a smooth texture and elegant luster.

LT4600 Rayon Cotton Twill Lining

LT4600 Rayon Cotton Twill Lining L-TOP (LOISIR)

Material: 57% rayon, 43% cotton

Specifications: 122cm x 50m

It features the softness of rayon and the natural feel of cotton.

Because it is woven with twill, it does not look sticky when used as a lining, and it gives it a unique look.

(Twill weave is a type of twill weave in which the warp and weft threads are crossed diagonally.)

LT5400 Cotton Mix Taffeta – Replacement for LT4600

Material: 57% rayon, 43% cotton

Size: 122cm x 50m

Replacement for LT4600. The difference between LT4600 and LT5400 is that LT4600 has a higher thread density (number of threads) of warp/weft threads than LT5400, so it feels thicker.

Replacement for AKP7291

AKP7292 Crafted Elegance Bemberg®︎

AKP7292 Crafted Elegance Bemberg®︎ [Lining] Asahi Kasei

Material: 100% Cupra

Size: 122cm x 50m

AKP7291 has been discontinued, but AKP7292 has been released as a new replacement.

Cupra lining with a smooth and gentle texture.

It is less likely to generate static electricity and prevents unpleasant clinging. It also prevents stuffiness and stickiness, making it refreshing to wear.
