Last week, ApparelX Insight had the opportunity to attend the Masuda Seminar, where we gained deeper insight into the brand and its product offerings.

Founded in 1927, Masuda boasts nearly a century of history—98 years of excellence in fabric manufacturing. Today, the company offers more than 200 stock fabrics in an impressive 3,500 color variations. With nine sales branches across Japan and its head office in Nagoya, Masuda holds the distinction of having the largest number of branches among synthetic fiber-based fabric manufacturers in the country.
Masuda is a trusted name in the world of synthetic and functional fabrics, widely recognized for its contributions to sportswear, casual wear, and uniforms. During the seminar, Masuda revealed that many renowned fashion houses—including Comme des Garçons and Celine—have used their fabrics.

Beyond textiles, Masuda also operates a clothing line called M’s Project, which features garments made entirely from their proprietary fabrics. This collection primarily focuses on sportswear, all produced to “Made in Japan” standards from start to finish.

Although fabric MA01 is currently the most popular fabric on ApparelX, we were surprised to learn that Masuda’s top-selling fabrics are actually M2000 and BK966—with over 3,000 rolls sold each month.
